The Royal Charter

Beneath Highgate, capital of the Kingdom of Valenmere, an adventuring party stops a hobgoblin plot to invade the royal castle through the sewers — proving strong enough to reach the raid leader and seize evidence that years of seemingly random attacks all come from Mistreach Valley, a distant wilderness King Aldric IV once thought was too far away to ever threaten the realm.

Calling your party the most skilled fighters he has ever seen, King Aldric IV rewards you with a charter to tame Mistreach Valley, one ship, and a small crew of workers. Upon landfall, you unload your supplies, give your town its name, and disassemble your ship for your first resources — recording every road, workshop, and rampart in your settlement's ledgers as you push into an unknown land.

Build

Lay out workshops, farms, mines, guilds, and trade chains — from raw timber and ore to forged Magesteel, Dragonscale, and enchanted gear.

Defend

Ring your settlement in palisades, stone walls up to level 20, towers, and gatehouses, and man the ramparts with archers, catapults, ballistae, and trebuchets.

Fight

Command heroes, companions, and garrison troops in turn-based tactical battles across land, siegeworks, ships, and the air, backed by Arcane, Divine, and Occult magic.

How It Started
Born from classic RPG nostalgia and a 2019 tabletop campaign at Ashenjugg in Green Bay — where the party guided a base-camp village named Haven from a Notepad file to a living spreadsheet — Ledgers of a Settlement grew into a solo Unity build and now a full 3D settlement defender.
