Magic Crafting
Paper, Ink and time turn a caster's energy into something that can be carried and used later. There is no daily or per-rest craft count; resources, fees, MP and real time are the limits.
The stations
| Station | Work |
|---|---|
| Wizard School — Writing table | Scrolls and Blank Books; scribing uses Wizardry |
| Theatre — Sheet Music Stand | Bard Sheet Music and the same Blank Book |
| Wizard School — Alchemist's table | Ink, healing potions and MP potions |
Ink

Make Ink at the Alchemist's table from 1 Vial and Reagents. It takes 1 second, and the crafting fee is its sell value. Ink costs 1 sp.
Scribing a Scroll or Sheet Music
At the Wizard School Writing table, a caster can scribe a spell he can cast. Each Scroll uses 1 Paper, 1 Ink, a fee equal to its sell value and the spell's full MP. A Bard makes Sheet Music at the Theatre's Sheet Music Stand on the same terms. Read either once to use it up without spending the reader's MP, or bind it into the matching book. See Magic Crafting.
The spell must be accessible through the caster's carried book or equipped personal relic, and its level must be reachable. The hero pays all inputs for an item when that item begins. The fee comes from the hero's purse, not town stock. For example, a level-3 spell costs 12 MP + 1 Paper + 1 Ink + its sell-value fee, and takes 90 seconds.
Real-time scribing
| Spell level | MP paid | Time per Scroll / Sheet Music |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 1 s |
| 2 | 8 | 60 s |
| 3 | 12 | 90 s |
| 4 | 16 | 120 s |
| 5 | 20 | 150 s |
| 6 | 24 | 180 s |
| 7 | 28 | 210 s |
| 8 | 32 | 240 s |
| 9 | 36 | 270 s |
| 10 | 40 | 300 s |
Books and potions
A Blank Book needs 40 Paper, 1 Ink and 1 Leather, takes 1 second and charges its sell-value fee. Writing a level-up choice or binding an existing loose spell item into a book is not a new scribing job and adds no Ink or MP charge.
Healing and MP potions use their tier timers: Minor 1 second, Lesser 60 seconds, Moderate 90 seconds, Greater 120 seconds and Major 150 seconds. Each uses its station recipe, a Vial and the sell-value fee; the full-spell MP cost applies to scribing, not to brewing potions. See MP Potions.
A committed craft
Confirmation commits the job. The hero stays at the station until it is finished; there is no cancel or interruption. The progress display continues in real time.
Movement, all town buttons, the build menu, building panels, Market, Jobs, other menus and hotkeys, Esc and Next Week are locked. The camera still orbits and zooms. Blocked town controls show Your hero is busy crafting
.
For a queue, each item is paid for as it starts. The lock lasts through the last item; if the next item cannot be paid for, the queue stops after the current one.
The fee follows the sell value
The fee always equals what that item would sell for at the time of crafting. Selling the finished item can return the fee, but never recover the materials as extra gold. The same rule applies to Scrolls, Sheet Music, books, Ink and potions. Temple tithes also come from the hero's purse.
