Web
Web is a 2nd-level spell of the Arcane tradition.
Effect
Sticky strands fill a 10-ft burst (20 ft, at up to 60 ft, from 4th level) and make it difficult terrain. A unit starting its turn there must make a Reflex save or lose 10 ft Speed that turn; on a critical failure it is stuck.

Who casts it, and where it comes from
- Cast by a hero Wizard (Arcane list).
- Casting from personal MP costs 8 MP at its starting level. At a higher casting level, pay 4 MP per spell level.
- Personal MP casting requires the class focus: a Spellbook in the Wizard’s bag, a Score in the Bard’s bag, or the Cleric’s own Holy Relic on an equipped item. Without it, use a Scroll (or Sheet Music as a Bard). See Magic Points.
- At the Wizard School Writing table, a caster can scribe a spell he can cast. Each Scroll uses 1 Paper, 1 Ink, a fee equal to its sell value and the spell's full MP. A Bard makes Sheet Music at the Theatre's Sheet Music Stand on the same terms. Read either once to use it up without spending the reader's MP, or bind it into the matching book. See Magic Crafting.
- Bind its Scroll into a Wizard’s Spellbook to keep the spell reusable; tear it out to receive the loose Scroll again. See Books & Scores.
- Scrolls and Sheet Music have distinct seals for all ten spell levels; the chosen item level determines the spell’s casting level.
- Can be crafted into a Magic Wand (2nd), Magic Wand (3rd), Magic Wand (4th); a new wand holds MP for 10 casts and wears down when recharged at rest.
